# Votu — A Map of Judgment Under Pressure

*From the Latin votum — a vow.*

## What is judgment?

Judgment is the act of committing to one side of a tension. By naming that tension in advance, you clarify what you are willing to lose. That accepted loss is the human residue of decision-making: the part that carries real cost for the chooser.

Judgment is not defined by upside. It is defined by the consequences you are willing to accept. In that sense, judgment is an act of risk acceptance under uncertainty.

## What's in this library

v0 carries 24 judgment calls from three practitioners at distinct philosophical poles:

- **Brian Chesky** (Airbnb founder/CEO) — product-craft pole. 8 calls.
- **Brian Balfour** (HubSpot growth lead, Reforge founder/CEO) — distribution-timing pole. 8 calls.
- **Eoghan McCabe** (Intercom founder/CEO) — wartime-culture pole. 8 calls.

Each call carries: the tension named in advance, the position the practitioner landed on, what they accepted to lose, the verbatim quote, the speaker, the timestamp, and a link to the source episode.
